Design by Manuel Aires Mateus

Manuel Aires Mateus is one of Portugal’s most renowned architects. Born in 1963, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon in 1986 and founded Aires Mateus & Associados with his brother Francisco Aires Mateus in 1988. His work is widely recognized for its architectural clarity and has received major distinctions, including the Valmor Prize for the Reitoria da Universidade de Lisboa and the EDP Headquarters, the Secil Prize, and international recognition such as being a finalist for the Mies van der Rohe Award.
