John Pawson

British architect and designer John Pawson is easily one of the most recognizable names in contemporary architecture.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Pawson’s work has focused on ways of approaching fundamental problems of space, proportion, light and materials.

Pawson is a strong advocate for simplicity in art, architecture and design across a variety of historical and cultural contexts, resulting in a much recognizable minimalist aesthetics. His work has won him different awards including RIBA awards for the Sackler Crossing at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and the Frate Sole International Prize for Sacred Architecture for the new Cistercian monastery of Lady of Novy Dvur in Bohemia.
