TAMEN is a latin word that stands for "yet, nevertheless, still", is exploring the creation of space through shapes and colour shades. Within this process, the connectivity to the space left on the paper defines a key role.

The watercolour prints by Marta Cruz approach the relationship between space and time, expressed through colour and composition. Using them as instruments, the designer works with an interplay of different shapes and layers. Interested in the complexity of colours, she never uses them in a raw way, but individually and intuitively searches the shades for each painting.

A Calm Reading of Colour.

TAMEN approaches watercolor as an exercise in control and reduction, where layered washes create depth without defining a fixed subject. The work relies on tonal balance and softness rather than contrast, encouraging a slower form of viewing. Open to interpretation, the composition offers a calm visual presence that integrates naturally into contemporary interiors, functioning both as an artwork and as a reflective pause within the space.

Marta Cruz is an architect and an artist based in Porto, Portugal.
Her artistic work explores the time-space binomial through colour and composition, either in watercolour or in drawing. In both cases, paper itself, as a substance and as a matter, is at the core of her practice.

About the method
A Digigraphie is a printing process made with carbon pigment inks on 270gr fine art paper. It may have a durability of over 75 years and, when archived, a longevity of over 200 years.

Offers great resistance to ultraviolet rays and can be exposed to sunlight without colour degradation.
